Debbie-Ann grew up in the inner-city community of Whitfield Town. For years, she suffered from low self-esteem because of her insecurities about her weight and not growing up with her biological family. However, her low self-esteem was not readily seen as she was always participating in events at church and school. She used her gifts and talents to mask the hurt and the pain she felt. Debbie-Ann also moved a few times during her childhood and during that time she was molested on several occasions. These experiences further impacted her self-esteem. However, she continued to mask these feelings. Debbie-Ann got married at an early age and she believed that this would be the answer to all her problems. However, throughout her marriage she again experienced pain and trauma.
In 2014, Debbie-Ann went through marital separation, and she was heartbroken. She felt as though her world collapsed right before her eyes, and she was helpless. During that time, she also went through financial struggles and found it difficult to pay her rent, buy food as well as take care of her children. It was during her brokenness that Debbie-Ann cried out to the Lord and found in Him a solace that she never knew existed. She began attending conferences, joined a life-coaching group and also studied the Word of God. After one year, God began transforming Debbie-Ann’s life. She received a salary increase and went back to school to further her studies. This allowed her to meet her financial obligations and provide for her children.
