DEBBIE-ANN HALL

Debbie-Ann grew up in the inner-city community of Whitfield Town. For years, she suffered from low self-esteem because of her insecurities about her weight and not growing up with her biological family. However, her low self-esteem was not readily seen as she was always participating in events at church and school. She used her gifts and talents to mask the hurt and the pain she felt. Debbie-Ann also moved a few times during her childhood and during that time she was molested on several occasions. These experiences further impacted her self-esteem. However, she continued to mask these feelings. Debbie-Ann got married at an early age and she believed that this would be the answer to all her problems. However, throughout her marriage she again experienced pain and trauma.

In 2014, Debbie-Ann went through marital separation, and she was heartbroken. She felt as though her world collapsed right before her eyes, and she was helpless. During that time, she also went through financial struggles and found it difficult to pay her rent, buy food as well as take care of her children. It was during her brokenness that Debbie-Ann cried out to the Lord and found in Him a solace that she never knew existed. She began attending conferences, joined a life-coaching group and also studied the Word of God. After one year, God began transforming Debbie-Ann’s life. She received a salary increase and went back to school to further her studies. This allowed her to meet her financial obligations and provide for her children.

Debbie-Ann’s journey to wholeness continued, and in 2020 she felt impressed to share with the world, a collection of some devotionals she wrote during the lowest points of her life. The collection became a book – God in my every step, A 21 Day Devotional for Women – which was published in October 2020. Debbie-Ann felt that the Lord was leading her to go deeper, and she did a 21-day programme on Facebook to share insights about the book. At the end of the season, the women who tuned into the programme impressed on Debbie-Ann to continue sharing her devotionals. After seeking the Lord, Debbie-Ann felt that the Lord was saying that she should continue. This led to the birth of the ministry – Devotions with Debbie-Ann, which offers a weekly devotional, Streams in the Wasteland, as well as prayer journals and resources to help men and women draw closer to God so that they may experience healing and restoration as they apply God’s word to their lives.

Debbie-Ann currently serves at different levels in her local church, AFBCI Life Tabernacle. She has a Master of Education in Teaching and Learning with Emerging Technologies from the UWI Open Campus as well as a Certificate in Kingdom Discipleship from the Whole Life Bible College. In addition to speaking and writing, she enjoys singing, reading and curried food.
